Jewish Writers’ Conference
Have you written a book that you’d like to have published? Do you have a story idea? Have you already been published and would like to network with others in your field? The Jewish Writers’ Conference, sponsored by the Jewish Book Council, brings together agents, editors, and authors for discussions, workshops, and panels discussing Jewish book publishing and writing. This conference combines our annual Jewish Children’s Writers Seminar and our Jewish Adult Writer’s Seminar.
In addition to presentations by professionals in the publishing field, the conference will include an opt-in month long writing group, and the chance to submit first pages and query letters, and private consultations with agents, designers, and publishers, by appointment only and for a fee. These opportunities are only open to those attending the conference.
Raid the Shelves
The Jewish Book Council, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting books of Jewish interest, wants to give you books. A lot of books, actually—as in, bring several extra bags! The JBC will open its doors and offer all of its leftover books to those quick enough to grab them. For $25 at the door — cash only— you can sift through hundreds of great Jewish books, and help yourself to an armload (or two) of the best Jewish literature in town!
