David Reifler is an ophthalmologist, a graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School who trained in Detroit and New York City, author of numerous medical works, and past-president of ASOPRS. He is on-call professor at Michigan State University and board member of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. He lives with his wife, Karen, in Grand Rapid, MI.
