Susan Schnei­der grew up on Long Island in the 1950s, grad­u­at­ed from Boston Uni­ver­si­ty and taught Eng­lish for more than 30 years. Fire in My Ears is the nov­el that result­ed from an assign­ment she gave a Cre­ative Writ­ing class to think back to the sights, sounds and smells of an ear­ly mem­o­ry. She lives in Man­hat­tan with her husband.
