Sarah Bunin Benor is a professor of Contemporary Jewish Studies at Hebrew Union College, Jewish Institute of Religion (Los Angeles). She received her Ph.D. in Linguistics from Stanford University in 2004. Her other books include Becoming Frum: How Newcomers Learn the Language and Culture of Orthodox Judaism (2012, Sami Rohr Choice Award) and Languages in Jewish Communities, Past and Present (2018).
