Cel­e­brate Jew­ish Book Month with #30days30authors! In hon­or of the 90th anniver­sary of Fan­ny Gold­stein’s trib­ute to Jew­ish books in the West End’s branch of the Boston Pub­lic Library, Jew­ish Book Coun­cil invit­ed 30 lead­ing authors, one for each day of the month, to answer a few ques­tions.


Eri­ca S. Perl is the author of pop­u­lar chil­dren’s books includ­ing Total­ly Tardy Mar­ty, Goat­ilocks and the Three Bears, Chick­en Butt!, When Life Gives You O.J. and Aces Wild. Her books have been fea­tured on NPR, the Wash­ing­ton Post, Read Kid­do Read, Slate, and Amazon’s Best Books. In addi­tion to writ­ing books, Eri­ca works for First Book, the non-prof­it orga­ni­za­tion that has dis­trib­uted over 130 mil­lion books to kids in need. She lives with her fam­i­ly in Wash­ing­ton, DC, where she once met the pres­i­dent of the Unit­ed States at – you guessed it — a book store!

She has received the Nation­al Jew­ish Book Award, the Syd­ney Tay­lor Sil­ver Medal, and a Syd­ney Tay­lor Notable. Eri­ca is a crowd-pleas­ing pre­sen­ter at schools, libraries, and com­mu­ni­ty events and lives in Wash­ing­ton, DC with her family.
