Nir Baram was born into a political family in Jerusalem in 1976. His grandfather and father were both Israeli Labor Party ministers. He has worked as a journalist and editor, and began publishing fiction 22 years old. Between 1998 and 2006 Nir published three novels. Good People is the first of his works to be published in English.
