Nathan Sza­jn­berg, MD was born in a Ger­man DP camp, attend­ed the Uni­ver­si­ty of Chica­go col­lege and med­ical school, and most recent­ly was the Sig­mund Freud Pro­fes­sor of Psy­cho­analy­sis at the Hebrew Uni­ver­si­ty of Jerusalem. He has writ­ten sev­er­al books on devel­op­ment and two novel­las. He has been award­ed two NIMH grants and the Ticho Award, and was the Waller­stein Research Fel­low in Psy­cho­analy­sis 2005 – 16.
