As an author, blogger, and speaker, Iris Ruth Pastor’s cornerstones are being real, relevant, and relatable. A baby boomer, wife, mother of five grown sons and grandmother to five (with one on the way any day), Iris has written a slice-of-life column entitled “Incidentally, Iris,” for over thirty years. She’s a “must read” blogger for Huffington Post, and her musings appears in numerous other websites, newspapers and periodicals. She pens a weekly Friday newsletter promoting self-care and controlling your own remote. A former radio talk show host and former managing editor of The American Israelite, Iris covers all topics related to mid-lifers and baby boomers — including tattoos — though she graciously declines the opportunity to get one. Iris’s mantra is “Preserving Your Bloom” – using your talents and resources to be the best you can be. After beating an eating disorder that ruled her life for forty-six years, through her writing and speaking, Iris is doing just that.
“Tales of a Bulimic Babe” is a Royal Palm Literary Awards Competition finalist.
