It is widely known that relationships often influence events far more than ideology might be expected to otherwise dictate. This book provides a recent, profound example of this thesis. The subtitle says it all.
It is interesting to learn some of the details of this often noted relationship through the lens of the Jewish partner. The various figures and events are woven together into a story about developments that have shaped recent positive changes in Christian views of, statements about, and relations with Jews and Judaism. The book is written in a style calculated to inform Jews about Catholic events and developments, and Christians about Jewish ones as the storyline proceeds. Serendipity mixed with informed, intentional action makes for the celebration of welcome changes, and a good read. Index.
