It may be another board book treatment of the Noah story, but this one is simply and nicely told, accompanied by lovely art originally painted on wooden planks with the graining still evident, which adds interest to each scene. The animals are appealingly and charmingly depicted. The portrayal of the creatures lulled to sleep by the rocking motion of the ark and then tumbling about, chasing and pouncing upon one another, is a delightful concept sure to evoke a clear mental image in young listeners — although no reason for the flood itself is included in the narrative. Recommended for ages 1 – 3.
