A World War II Time­line describes in clear, pre­cise lan­guage the his­tor­i­cal and social fac­tors that pre­ced­ed and con­tributed to World War II in addi­tion to the events of the war itself. The his­tor­i­cal back­ground sur­rounding the end of World War I, essen­tial to the under­stand­ing of World War II, is briefly dis­cussed in intro­duc­to­ry para­graphs at the begin­ning of the book. The use of time­lines is an artic­u­late way to teach his­to­ry to this tar­get age group. The time­lines com­mu­ni­cate the essence of the cov­ered his­tor­i­cal peri­od in a way that makes the full sig­nif­i­cance of the events quite clear.
