Aubrey Kagan was born and grew up in Rhode­sia. He grad­u­at­ed as an elec­tri­cal engi­neer from the Tech­nion (Haifa) and with an MBA from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Wit­wa­ter­srand (Johan­nes­burg). He prac­ticed as an elec­tron­ic engi­neer for over forty years in both South Africa and Cana­da. His first book was on the use of Microsoft Excel. He is retired and lives in Toronto.
