Aubrey Kagan was born and grew up in Rhodesia. He graduated as an electrical engineer from the Technion (Haifa) and with an MBA from the University of Witwatersrand (Johannesburg). He practiced as an electronic engineer for over forty years in both South Africa and Canada. His first book was on the use of Microsoft Excel. He is retired and lives in Toronto.
