Alina Adams was born in the Soviet Union and immigrated with her family to the U.S. in 1977. The Nesting Dolls covers the history of Soviet Jews from the 1930s to the 1970s as well as the immigration experience towards the end of the 20th century. Adams can discuss the research that went into telling her story her own personal experience with the Free Soviet Jewry movement, as well as the importance of keeping family history alive for future generations. The Nesting Dolls is fiction, but it is based on fact and much of it will likely strike a chord with the family histories of all American Jews.
