Born into a Haskala athe­ist fam­i­ly, this poly­math chose an under­grad­u­ate major in physics but by grad­u­ate school had found her life­long love, phi­los­o­phy. Her two nov­els, many short sto­ries, essays, and some poet­ry fol­lowed. She pub­lished in Moment, Tikkun, and The For­ward, always turn­ing to phi­los­o­phy for answers to her thought­ful ques­tions. After teach­ing a phi­los­o­phy course on Sab­bath-keep­ing, she began the quest which even­tu­al­ly became this high­ly orig­i­nal and very read­able book.
