Roni (Fan­tanesh) Malkai was born in Ethiopia and immi­grat­ed to Israel from Ethiopia in 1980 as part of Beta Israel. She holds an MA in Pub­lic Pol­i­cy and an LLB in Law. A jour­nal­ist, speak­er, and activist, she writes for Haaretz and oth­er media, address­ing race, equal­i­ty, and social jus­tice while advo­cat­ing for social change.
