Patricia Bernstein is an author, historian and publicist living in Houston. She has managed her own public relations firm since 1983, and has published numerous articles in such venues as Texas Monthly, Cosmopolitan and The Smithsonian. This book is her third. Her previous book was “The First Waco Horror: the Lynching of Jesse Washington and the Rise of the NAACP.”
