A native New York­er, David Kro­n­feld moved to Boston for col­lege and grad­u­ate school. Dur­ing that time, he joined Havu­rat Shalom, an exper­i­men­tal Jew­ish com­mu­ni­ty. After com­plet­ing a doc­tor­ate in lit­er­a­ture, he entered the busi­ness world and spent 35 years in cor­po­rate com­mu­ni­ca­tions. Retired, he now lives in Man­hat­tan with his wife, Sarah Jacobs, a Jew­ish fab­ric artist.
