This collection of anecdotes and moral preaching based on sports analogies may serve a purpose in an Orthodox home or school setting, but others will probably find the book too didactic. The author wanted to use sports to highlight some of the precepts of ethical living, but the tone makes the book too preachy for many readers. There are many references to Biblical and Talmudic teachings as they relate to some well known sports moments like the triumph of the U.S. hockey team in the Olympics. The story of this victory is interrupted with quotes from King David, Ibn Ezra, and the Talmud, to name just a few. The result is the author giving the reader a prescription for living a moral life, rather than a book for young sports fans.
