Reb Goldie’s latest work advises individuals and families on Jewish life cycle events. The author demonstrates remarkable sensitivities to today’s Jewish families as well as to Jewish tradition as she suggests ways to link families with tradition with an eye to the values of contemporary life. She recommends ways through which traditional observances can be renewed and used to enhance the spirituality in weddings, funerals, bar/bat mitzvah and more. The ideas that are introduced are a valuable resource for lay readers, as well as for rabbis and Jewish educators in their respective work.
Rabbi Arnold D. Samlan is a Jewish educator and rabbi living in Miami, Florida. He serves as executive director of the Orloff Central Agency for Jewish Education of Broward County.
