Robert Klitz­man is a Pro­fes­sor of Psy­chi­a­try at the med­ical school and school of pub­lic health and direct the Bioethics Mas­ters Pro­gram at Colum­bia Uni­ver­si­ty. He has writ­ten 10 books and over 200 aca­d­e­m­ic arti­cles, explor­ing spir­i­tu­al, moral and psy­cho­log­i­cal chal­lenges that doc­tors and patients con­front. Klitz­man has received a Guggen­heim Fel­low­ship and oth­er awards, and writ­ten reg­u­lar­ly for The New York Times.
