Mir­ta was born in Argenti­na. Her par­ents immi­grat­ed to the Unit­ed States when she was an infant; how­ev­er, due to her father’s employ­er — Pan Amer­i­can Air­lines — Mir­ta fre­quent­ly returned to her native land. Mirta’s fas­ci­na­tion with Jew­ish his­to­ry and geneal­o­gy, cou­pled with an obses­sion for peri­od nov­els, inspired her to cre­ate unique and enlight­en­ing books that speak to her heritage.
