K. Hei­di Fish­man grew up in Con­necti­cut. After grad­u­at­ing from Williams Col­lege, she received an EdD in Coun­sel­ing Psy­chol­o­gy from West­ern Michi­gan Uni­ver­si­ty. As a psy­chol­o­gist, she spe­cial­ized in work­ing with peo­ple with eat­ing dis­or­ders and his­to­ries of trau­ma at both Dart­mouth Col­lege and in pri­vate practice.Heidi lives in Ver­mont with her hus­band and occa­sion­al­ly sees her busy teenagers.
