I Go to a Wedding is a young child’s first look at a Jewish wedding. Benenfeld does a good job incorporating all the new vocabulary words that observant children will hear during the course of the simcha. All parts of the wedding celebration are covered, with simple explanations. The sentences rhyme and the language is uncomplicated, just at the right level for a preschooler. The simple, brightly colored illustrations have some child appeal, and include realistic details, like a mechitzah at the reception. The target audience for this book is the observant Jewish community
